Week Nine – Tick…Tick…Tick…

There was a time when seven simple words were more feared, "60 Minutes is hear to see you" than “the IRS called to schedule your audit” (unless you’re a high ranking member of the Obama Administration or a senior democrat in Congress of course, who all seem to be exempt from paying taxes), "the proctologist will see you now” or “Dad, this is my fiancé Tater Salad, he gets off parole next week and hopes to get his old job back bagging at the Piggly Wiggly, ain’t he something.”
In their heyday a phone call from 60 Minutes or having Mike Wallace or Morley Safer knocking at the front door could truly strike fear in the halls of congress, corporate board rooms, the ivy covered columns of academia and make a Harvard educated PHD run for cover like a scalded dog after catching one glimpse of Dan Rather heading their way.
Despite being a charter member of the left wing media elite there was a time when this hard charging, aggressive TV News Magazine set the standard and raised a very high bar for excellence in investigative journalism. It’s this legacy of hard hitting, take no prisoners and truth seeking reporting that makes Steve Croft’s fluff, I’ve come to worship at the altar of Obama, suck up, kiss up, comedy of the trivial, expose on President Obama that aired on 60 Minutes Sunday night so disappointing, if not expected, but sad just the same.
So even though the show had demonstrated great promise and journalistic integrity at times their true liberal core values eventually won out and now dominate their content and editorial slant. Croft’s Sunday night performance certainly did nothing to alter their far left leaning journalistic agenda. This is by no means verbatim but certainly captures the spirit of his interview with the President:
· Croft – Mr. President, Your Holiness, Oh Great One, we are so grateful and forever in your debt for granting us an audience in your angelic presence
· Obama – Why Steve, Yes, Yes We Can. Healthcare, Green Energy & Education
· Croft – Oh Master, the Anointed One, how will you lead us to economic Nirvana?
· Obama – Steve, I’ll Sheppard the masses from Wall Street to Main Street inspiring all with Change We Can Believe In. You know, Healthcare, Green Energy & Education
· Croft: Your Eminence, Abe Lincoln, FDR, JFK, & Michael Jordan incarnate, how can we mere mortals ever repay your benevolence, mercy and divine leadership?
· Obama: Steve, by believing in but not paying a bit of attention to the “Change We Can Believe In that will bankrupt our economy and Yes We Can convert our entire economy and culture to socialism” policies I’m currently putting in place while diverting everyone’s attention with the chump change AIG bonuses issue and Timmy “Turbo Tax Cheat” Geithner’s incredibly confusing public statements and appearances.
The real travesty here is Croft’s missed opportunity to probe and draw out the leader of the free world on his opinions and beliefs on important, substantive issues. Questions about the President’s view on down grading the War on Terror to some yet to be determined status; the success of the surge and his thoughts on victory in Iraq and not just withdrawing troops and ending the war; his exit strategy for Afghanistan; his reaching out/appeasement strategy towards Iran, Syria and other terrorist nations; what type of new math he is using to support his claims that by tripling the deficit with his socialist spending proposals over the next two years he’ll actually cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term; or how he could actually have the audacity to compare his Secretary of Treasury Tim “Turbo Tax Cheat” Geithner to Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton, our nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury and author of the Federalist Papers, built our fledgling country’s federal financial system from scratch with the likes of Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and James Madison fighting him tooth and nail all the way.
The only past administration this crowd compares to so far is Peanut and his gang of terrorist appeasers, socialist and economic wizards that gave away the Panama Canal and created double digit unemployment, inflation and 21% interest rates back in the 70’s.
Instead of serious, aggressive and important investigative reporting we got Victory Gardens, swing sets and personal attacks on Dick Cheney for speaking truth to power.
Week nine of the “Yes We Can Print New Money Faster Than We Can Spend It” crowd kicked off with Madame Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi committing felonious acts on national TV by encouraging criminal illegal aliens to break our nation’s laws. At a minimum she should be charged with accessory to a crime, impeached from office, thrown in jail and forced to share a cell with one of her criminal alien pals. Six to twelve months in a ten by ten cell with a criminal alien drug dealer and sex offender just might provide the Speaker with a needed attitude adjustment regarding her views on criminal illegal immigration.
Speaking of our soon to be incarcerated Speaker, a friend shared the folowing story with me:
· On a Saturday afternoon, in Washington, D. C., House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's aide visited the Cardinal of the Catholic cathedral. He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's sermon, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.
The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Pelosi's views." Pelosi's aide then said, "Look. I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to your church if you'll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint. The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon."
As Pelosi's aide promised, House Speaker Pelosi appeared for the Sunday sermon and seated herself prominently at the edge of the main aisle. And, during the sermon, as promised, the Cardinal pointed out that House Speaker Pelosi was present.
Then the Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation -- "While Speaker Pelosi's presence is probably an honor to some, she is not my favorite person. Some of her views are contrary to those of the church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other views. Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker, and a nit-wit. Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief. Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever personally witnessed. She married for money and is using it to lie to the American people. She also has a reputation for shirking her Representative obligations both in Washington, and in California. She simply is not to be trusted."
The Cardinal completed his view of Pelosi with, "But, when compared to Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, Barney, “Freddie in the Fannie Mack” Frank, Chris, “AIG Bonus Boy” Dodd, Chucky Schumer, Maxine Waters, Henry “the Hobbit” Waxman and John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi is a saint."
Week nine continued with the AIG farce up on the hill and concluded with our fearless leader’s 325th made for TV appearance of the week with a nationally broadcast hour long Liars and Scoundrels Conference, I mean Press Conference, so we could all have yet another chance to hear and see our Commander and Chief blame W. for all his problems, play the victim card and slowly but surely lead us one step closer to his utopian socialist society.

Barack Obama. What kind of name is Barack? I’ve never met anyone named Barack before. Barack sounds more like a type of furniture or maybe one of those strange looking musical instruments all the big city orchestras have in their wind section. Barack, the more I say it the better I like it, just rolls right off the ole tongue. Yes sir, I do like it, definitely a name worthy of a U.S. President.

Week Eight – Unbridled Hypocrisy
“An ounce of hypocrisy is worth a pound of ambition”

Hypocrisy, acrimony and self serving rhetoric are as synonymous with Washington, politicians and government bureaucrats as white is to rice. In fact, this type of scurrilous behavior has been a mainstay in our nation’s capital since our country’s founding. Unfortunately, as of late, the hypocritical behavior of our nation’s lawmakers and the new administration has reached levels never witnessed before and has spread faster than kudzu through the halls of congress and the oval office.
Week 8 of the “Yes We Can & Yes We Will, Lie, Deceive, and Make Fools of We the People” crowd began with one of the most hypocritical actions ever taken by a U.S. President. After making all his previous Bill and Executive Order signings major media events with a cast of thousands on hand and a global TV audience, with absolutely no fanfare what so ever, in the dark of night, behind closed doors and without a TV camera in sight, Mister new era of government transparency and openness signed into law a $400 billion dollar plus omnibus budget bill to fund the activities of the federal government for the rest of fiscal year 2009.
Just as a little reminder, this stealth spending bill was packed with more pork than Michael Moore’s XXX large Fruit of the Loom boxer shorts (I can only hope he truly opts for the boxers, the visual of Michael Moore in tighty - whities is an image I’d only wish on a worst enemy). Basically funding discretionary spending, the bill is eight percent higher than last year’s budget in a period of time with almost zero inflation. The bill is also chalk full of over 8,500 earmarks worth about $7.7 billion and is on top of the President’s $1 trillion plus Stimulus/Socialist Spending bill already approved by the democrat controlled politburo, I’m mean, congress. And as for the senior senator from New York, little Chucky Schumer, and his comments on the senate floor suggesting we the people don’t care about the $7.7 billion in earmarks and the unnecessary 8% increase in spending, all I can say is he really must be either one can short of a six pack and/or blinded by arrogance to make such asinine, elitist and ludicrous comments.
The entire process employed to achieve passage of this bill just smacks of D.C. at its hypocritical worst. Events leading up to its passage included:
1. Comrades Pelosi and Reid delayed a vote faced with a veto by W because of the wasteful spending and earmarks hoping for an Obama victory in the fall.
2. Candidate Obama promised earmark reform and to go through every budget line by line to eliminate waste.
3. President Elect and President Obama repeatedly reiterated earmark and budget process campaign promises
4. As news of the thousands of earmarks representing billions of dollars finally broke through the main stream media elite’s Obama protection filter the “Yes We Can Lie and Deceive Ourselves Out of Any Situation” group at the white house devised a strategy blaming W again as they were victims and had inherited this awful budget. The media elite embraced this story of woe and we the people get the short end of the stick again.
5. And finally, as previously mentioned, the bill was most unceremoniously signed behind closed doors in the dark of night in the Senate’s Men’s Room, at least as rumor has it, (right after they checked all the stalls to make sure Senator Craig wasn’t lurking in the shadows hoping to score a date for the evening) without a reporter or TV camera anywhere to be found. Considering the fact that this president appears on at least two to three made for TV events daily and gets more face time on the tube than Ryan Seacrest, Paris Hilton, the Video Professor and the Sham Wow TV Spokesman combined, the absence of coverage speaks volumes about the corruption and wasteful spending this bill contains.
Hypocritical actions and behavior seemed to dominate the entire week. A few more examples included the Presidents continued rhetoric about the dire economic crisis being his number one priority while his Treasury Department remains woefully understaffed. To date, only one appointee has been approved by the senate and three have withdrawn because of vetting issues. It’s hard to finance a hostile socialist government takeover with only one overworked, underpaid and under loved tax cheat at Treasury, the one and only Tim “Turbo Tax Cheat” Geithner.
The President also keeps playing the victim card claiming out of one side of his mouth how he inherited this mother of all economic crisis, including W’s unprecedented federal debt, while proposing out of the other side of his mouth the addition of $3.2 trillion to the debt during the first two years of his administration, compared to the $3 trillion W added over his eight years in office. At that pace and if elected to a second term our conversion from a representative republic form of government to one big happy Spanish speaking socialist commune will only add $12 - $13 trillion to the national debt. Now that’s certainly change we all can sure as hell believe in.
Week eight ended with our entire federal government at their hypocritical best with the public flogging of AIG. No doubt the taxpayer funded bonuses to AIG execs is a callous abuse of the public trust and another glaring example of unbelievable boneheaded management decisions, but when compared to the frivolous, wasteful, under the table, and totally out of control spending of President Obama and Congress, both sides of the isle, AIG’s financial transgressions seem trivial and even inconsequential.
The moral outrage expressed about AIG’s financial mismanagement by President Obama, Senator “VIP CountryWide loan boy” Dodd, Barney “Freddie in the Fannie Mack” Frank, Charlie “I just forgot to pay those taxes” Rangel and I’m sad to say even my very own senator from the great state of Alabama, the Honorable Richard “Mr. $800 thousand earmark for Catfish Research” Shelby, rings hallow when considering their advocacy of unprecedented massive deficit government spending; taxpayer funded under the table political payback to special interest groups (unions and ACORN); funding programs that will triple or even quadruple the national debt and in general spending we the people’s money with the reckless abandon of Bill Clinton unleashed at a reunion of female white house interns.
There is a thin line between hypocrisy and bald face lies. Our new President seems to cross that line far too frequently and with entirely too much ease in the advocacy of his irresponsible spending, massive tax increases, redistribution of wealth and hopes for a socialist U.S. government and society. To end the hypocrisy and shine a light on the deceptions our diligence, active participation, vocal opposition and informed dissent will be required now more than ever.

Week Seven – Don Corleone Obama, The Godfather
“Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer”

Barack H. Obama, our new fearless leader and Commander in Chief, seems to have adopted Don Corleone’s advice as the cornerstone of his new foreign policy strategy. This would certainly explain why we are reaching out and even providing thinly veiled support to nations sympathetic to Islamic Jihadist terrorist, in other words the enemy, (Palestine, Syria, the Taliban and Iran for starters) and at the same time treating our friends, the Brits for example, like a red headed stepchild.
Evidence of this new strategy is abundantly clear when examining British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s first (and very possibly last) state visit to the U.S. this week. Starry eyed and awe struck, like all his fellow countrymen and the rest of Europe, he arrived on our shores and made the pilgrimage to D.C. to worship at the shrine of Obama. To his total dismay, and all is Limey brethren back home, he was inexplicably shunned and publicly humiliated by the mighty Obama hiself.
The insults inflicted on Mr. Brown included the absence of the obligatory and absolutely appropriate state dinner, shindig or hoedown typically thrown for a visiting head of state from one of our closest friends abroad, the unexplained cancelling of a joint Obama and Brown press conference and a truly shameful gift exchange.
Prime Minister Brown, in the spirit of friendship and solidarity, presented President Obama with several priceless gifts including an ornamental desk pen-holder made from the oak timbers of the Victorian anti-slaver HMS Gannet, once named HMS President and an original manuscript of a Churchill book. Sarah Brown, the PM’s wife, gave the Obama girls dresses and necklaces from the trendy Top Shop store, plus books by British authors.
In response to these most appropriate gestures of generosity and graciousness President Obama gave Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the head of state of our closest and most reliable ally, a set of 25 DVDs of American movies. That’s right, I’m ashamed to say it but it’s worth repeating, 25 DVD’s. Rumor has it he also gave the PM a ShamWow and the Misses a Thigh Master but we weren’t able to confirm this before posting this article. To add insult to injury, the First Lady sent an aid down to the White House gift shop at the last minute to buy the Brown’s boys two toy replicas of the presidents’ Marine 1 helicopter. Retail price on Amazon.com, about $15 bucks.
The President topped this foreign affairs train wreck off by returning a bust of Winston Churchill given by Brown's predecessar, Tony Blair, to W after 9/11 in a show of solidarity in our war with radical Islamic terrorist. Mr. Obama must have viewed this most generous of gifts as just another problem inherited from W. and a reminder of our war on terrorism that needed to be discarded as we certainly wouldn’t want to risk offending any of his new Jihadist pals.
As much as I appreciate this rare demonstration of restraint with our tax dollars, the naivety of this administration about how to conduct foreign relations is alarming. If we can afford $1 trillion for a socialist stimulus/spending bill, 4 trillion on the hostile government takeover of healthcare, energy, education and the financial industries you’d think we could afford to buy the British PM and his family a nice present or two. Maybe it all boils down to the fact that the Obamas are both Yankees, and the sad truth is, Yankees just tend to be tacky. Picture knee high black dress socks with sandals and bermuda shorts and I’m sure you can appreciate what I’m saying here.
One final thought on visiting heads of state from allies and friendly nations. The only country that deserves this kinda of treatment is our dear friends the French. We can only hope the Obamas greet the French on their first state visit with a full demonstration of their tacky Yankee best as I can’t think of another more deserving ally for such treatment.

Meanwhile, the “Change We Can Believe in” crowd is initiating a dangerous and arrogant foreign policy strategy based on appeasement towards radical Islamic nations who have declared Jihad on we the people and the freedoms and liberties we cherish. Proceeding under the illusion that by the sheer power of the All Mighty Obama’s super human negotiation, persuasion skills, bright smile, firm handshake and winning personality they think we will win the hearts and minds of our enemies and have them all following our lead down the yellow brick road to a utopian socialist society. This way of thinking from my way of thinking is pure fantasy and is an offer Omar and his merry band of rug makers will turn down in a New York minute.
Our government’s new terrorist appeasement policy to “keep our enemies closer” truly boggles the mind. As mentioned in previous post actions already taken by “The Yes We Can” win over the murderous, cowardly, Islamic, Jihadist terrorist crowd include overtures to Iran and Mr. Happy Ahmadinejadjadjadjad to conduct high level talks and our pledge last week of almost $1 billion dollars to the Palestinians and our new best bud’s the terrorist gang Hamas and the remanents of Yasser Arafat’s PLO which is now run by his little brother Nosir, at least so I’ve been told.
This week, in-between time spent ducking enemy sniper fire in Turkey, Madame Secretary of State Hillary “Sarg” Clinton announced our initiation of high level discussions with Syrian officials. Syria, a country that welcomes with open arms the likes of Hezbollah, one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist organizations, with aims to destroy Israel, a dominant force in Lebanon, and among Iran’s terrorist surrogates fighting in Iraq and responsible for 100’s of U.S. military casualties.
Last but sure enough not least are the President and Vice President’s latest brilliant idea to deal with the “moderate” wing of the Taliban in Afghanistan. The moderate wing of the Taliban? Must be the members of this “Top Gun” of the terrorist world who use a machete to cut ones head off as opposed to a full size Arabian battle sword and only murder innocent woman and children six days a week instead of seven as they refrain from raping, pillaging and killing on Fridays, the Islamic Holy day, when they typically pine their time away smoking narcotics in their longneck pipes and molesting their goat herds.

The President should seriously consider following the example of Clemenza found in the clarity of mission and sense of priority so profoundly relayed in his order quoted above to the assassin who had just pumped two bullets in the back of Pauly’s head for his betrayal that led to Sonny’s brutal killing at the Long Island Toll Gate Station. Even after witnessing this cold blooded murder Clemenza had the presence of mind to assure the gun wouldn’t be traceable and the cannoli would make it home safely to a most grateful wife.
President Obama would greatly benefit from employing a similar clarity of mission when formulating and executing foreign affair strategies for friends and enemies and when setting domestic priorities. These strategies and initiatives should definitely include” going to the mattresses” to bolster our war on terror and to focus like a lazer beam on our real financial crisis, the banks, flow and availability of credit, and leading with confidence and tempered optimism.

Week Seven – Don Corleone Obama, The Godfather
“Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer”

Barack H. Obama, our new fearless leader and Commander in Chief, seems to have adopted Don Corleone’s advice as the cornerstone of his new foreign policy strategy. This would certainly explain why we are reaching out and even providing thinly veiled support to nations sympathetic to Islamic Jihadist terrorist, in other words the enemy, (Palestine, Syria, the Taliban and Iran for starters) and at the same time treating our friends, the Brits for example, like a red headed stepchild.
Evidence of this new strategy is abundantly clear when examining British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s first (and very possibly last) state visit to the U.S. this week. Starry eyed and awe struck, like all his fellow countrymen and the rest of Europe, he arrived on our shores and made the pilgrimage to D.C. to worship at the shrine of Obama. To his total dismay, and all is Limey brethren back home, he was inexplicably shunned and publicly humiliated by the mighty Obama hiself.
The insults inflicted on Mr. Brown included the absence of the obligatory and absolutely appropriate state dinner, shindig or hoedown typically thrown for a visiting head of state from one of our closest friends abroad, the unexplained cancelling of a joint Obama and Brown press conference and a truly shameful gift exchange.
Prime Minister Brown, in the spirit of friendship and solidarity, presented President Obama with several priceless gifts including an ornamental desk pen-holder made from the oak timbers of the Victorian anti-slaver HMS Gannet, once named HMS President and an original manuscript of a Churchill book. Sarah Brown, the PM’s wife, gave the Obama girls dresses and necklaces from the trendy Top Shop store, plus books by British authors.
In response to these most appropriate gestures of generosity and graciousness President Obama gave Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the head of state of our closest and most reliable ally, a set of 25 DVDs of American movies. That’s right, I’m ashamed to say it but it’s worth repeating, 25 DVD’s. Rumor has it he also gave the PM a ShamWow and the Misses a Thigh Master but we weren’t able to confirm this before posting this article. To add insult to injury, the First Lady sent an aid down to the White House gift shop at the last minute to buy the Brown’s boys two toy replicas of the presidents’ Marine 1 helicopter. Retail price on Amazon.com, about $15 bucks.
The President topped this foreign affairs train wreck off by returning a bust of Winston Churchill given by Brown's predecessar, Tony Blair, to W after 9/11 in a show of solidarity in our war with radical Islamic terrorist. Mr. Obama must have viewed this most generous of gifts as just another problem inherited from W. and a reminder of our war on terrorism that needed to be discarded as we certainly wouldn’t want to risk offending any of his new Jihadist pals.
As much as I appreciate this rare demonstration of restraint with our tax dollars, the naivety of this administration about how to conduct foreign relations is alarming. If we can afford $1 trillion for a socialist stimulus/spending bill, 4 trillion on the hostile government takeover of healthcare, energy, education and the financial industries you’d think we could afford to buy the British PM and his family a nice present or two. Maybe it all boils down to the fact that the Obamas are both Yankees, and the sad truth is, Yankees just tend to be tacky. Picture knee high black dress socks with sandals and bermuda shorts and I’m sure you can appreciate what I’m saying here.
One final thought on visiting heads of state from allies and friendly nations. The only country that deserves this kinda of treatment is our dear friends the French. We can only hope the Obamas greet the French on their first state visit with a full demonstration of their tacky Yankee best as I can’t think of another more deserving ally for such treatment.

Meanwhile, the “Change We Can Believe in” crowd is initiating a dangerous and arrogant foreign policy strategy based on appeasement towards radical Islamic nations who have declared Jihad on we the people and the freedoms and liberties we cherish. Proceeding under the illusion that by the sheer power of the All Mighty Obama’s super human negotiation, persuasion skills, bright smile, firm handshake and winning personality they think we will win the hearts and minds of our enemies and have them all following our lead down the yellow brick road to a utopian socialist society. This way of thinking from my way of thinking is pure fantasy and is an offer Omar and his merry band of rug makers will turn down in a New York minute.
Our government’s new terrorist appeasement policy to “keep our enemies closer” truly boggles the mind. As mentioned in previous post actions already taken by “The Yes We Can” win over the murderous, cowardly, Islamic, Jihadist terrorist crowd include overtures to Iran and Mr. Happy Ahmadinejadjadjadjad to conduct high level talks and our pledge last week of almost $1 billion dollars to the Palestinians and our new best bud’s the terrorist gang Hamas and the remanents of Yasser Arafat’s PLO which is now run by his little brother Nosir, at least so I’ve been told.
This week, in-between time spent ducking enemy sniper fire in Turkey, Madame Secretary of State Hillary “Sarg” Clinton announced our initiation of high level discussions with Syrian officials. Syria, a country that welcomes with open arms the likes of Hezbollah, one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist organizations, with aims to destroy Israel, a dominant force in Lebanon, and among Iran’s terrorist surrogates fighting in Iraq and responsible for 100’s of U.S. military casualties.
Last but sure enough not least are the President and Vice President’s latest brilliant idea to deal with the “moderate” wing of the Taliban in Afghanistan. The moderate wing of the Taliban? Must be the members of this “Top Gun” of the terrorist world who use a machete to cut ones head off as opposed to a full size Arabian battle sword and only murder innocent woman and children six days a week instead of seven as they refrain from raping, pillaging and killing on Fridays, the Islamic Holy day, when they typically pine their time away smoking narcotics in their longneck pipes and molesting their goat herds.

The President should seriously consider following the example of Clemenza found in the clarity of mission and sense of priority so profoundly relayed in his order quoted above to the assassin who had just pumped two bullets in the back of Pauly’s head for his betrayal that led to Sonny’s brutal killing at the Long Island Toll Gate Station. Even after witnessing this cold blooded murder Clemenza had the presence of mind to assure the gun wouldn’t be traceable and the cannoli would make it home safely to a most grateful wife.
President Obama would greatly benefit from employing a similar clarity of mission when formulating and executing foreign affair strategies for friends and enemies and when setting domestic priorities. These strategies and initiatives should definitely include” going to the mattresses” to bolster our war on terror and to focus like a lazer beam on our real financial crisis, the banks, flow and availability of credit, and leading with confidence and tempered optimism.

Thoughts of Obama from Bama
Week Six – Declaration of War

The Constitution of the United States of America unequivocally gives Congress, and Congress alone, the authority to declare war. In total disregard for the constitution, a frequent pattern of behavior for the “Change We Can Believe In” crowd, six short weeks after taking the oath of office and swearing with his hand on ole Abe’s bible to uphold and protect the constitution our new Commander in Chief declared war on, of all folks, we the people.
Our new president, finally showing his true colors in full regalia, openly and without shame declared war on almost every institution and ideal that has made this country the shining city on a hill the rest of the world looks to for hope and leadership as so eloquently described by Ronald Reagan twenty five years ago. Starting with his Saturday radio address to the nation and in every subsequent speech during the week, which seems like two to three daily (this guy doesn’t seem to have heard of the concept of overexposure) the president made clear he is loaded for bear and ready for a fight.
Mr. Obama’s Stimulus/Socialist Spending Plan, proposed budget and mortgage rescue /redistribution of wealth plan represent nothing short of a hostile takeover of our free market economy and individual freedoms. His declaration of war to win support and passage of these not only big but gargantuan government programs are a direct assault on free enterprise; our most productive wage earners and job creators; the private sector economy; small business; the world’s finest healthcare system; Wall Street, Main Street, and Doug Baker Boulevard ( A fairly new road down the way from the house, as for the name, we think someone lost a bet), CEO’s; the auto industry; the domestic energy industry; every special interest group in America, including the “good” ones, defined as groups we are members of; mom; dad; apple pie; homemade ice-cream; baseball; the 4th of July. Mr. Obama even declared war on conservative icon Rush Limbaugh, declaring him public enemy number one.
Now, with all due respect to Mr. Limbaugh, who truly is a charismatic and dynamic thought leader of the conservative movement, it’s just downright unbecoming, demeaning and far beneath the office of the presidency to attack a private citizen, whomever and whatever their vocation or political leanings. This includes the likes of “Joe the Plumber”, Betty Lou Thelma Lynn no count white trash trailer trash queens and even wildly popular and successful radio talk show host.
This type of behavior is sure to diminish the president’s street cred with Putin in Russia, Ahmadinejad in Iran, N Korea’s Kim Yong - il and other foreign leaders as they will surely find it somewhat pathetic when the leader of the free world picks a fight with a radio talk show host. Regardless, I’m sure Rush appreciates all the free P.R. and attention.
All that being said, even more dangerous than the president’s war with we the people to create the United Socialist States of America is his retreat in our real shooting war against Islamic extremist. Bin Laden, Omar, Mohammad and their merry band of tent makers may have suffered a major setback in Iraq but are rebuilding and rearming in Afghanistan and other rat holes throughout the Middle East. These Jihadist head cases are hell bent on our destruction and if we continue down the path of appeasement another successful terrorist attack is almost guaranteed.
The presidents attitude towards and views on terrorism are truly extremely disturbing. During a speech to the military announcing our withdrawal from Iraq this week the president failed to mention the words victory or win even one time. He did appropriately praise and give credit to the troops but glaringly and intentionally omitted any reference to our victory over Islamic terrorist in this military struggle that cost so dearly in American blood and treasure. As Commander in Chief his failure to acknowledge this fact borderlines on treason.
Another troubling sign of our new terrorist appeasement policy occurred during President Obama’s recently appointed new chief of Homeland Security’s, Janet Napolitano, confirmation hearings before congress. The committee got an earful about Katrina and all other forms of natural disasters and such during her opening remarks but not a peep about the threat of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism. Considering the primary mission and charge of the Department of Homeland Security is to lead us in the war on terror and protect us from Ali Baba and his 40 suicide bombers her obvious intentional omission to address the issue does not bode well for our future safety and security.
And finally, let’s not forget Madam Secretary of State Hillary “Rambo” Clinton who dodged sniper fire to her heart’s delight this week on her first official visit to the Middle East. Sounds harmless enough until we are told that a highlight of the trip is our pledge of $900 million dollars to the Palestinians for rebuilding required from the recent skirmish with Israel. Considering the fact that we know, they know and the entire world knows that most if not all of this money will end up in the hands of Hamas, ranked right up there with al-Qaeda as one of the world’s most dangerous gang of terrorist, this gesture of thinly veiled indirect support of an extremist terrorist organization the likes of Hamas is truly shocking.
Our president and Commander in Chief has declared war but doesn’t seem to have a clue who the real enemy is. Let’s hope for the sake of our country and the world he calls a cease fire on we the people and aims that alleged superior intellect and soaring rhetoric at our real enemy, radical Muslim Jihadist.
