Week 114: "The Obama Doctrine"

Everybody needs a Doctrine to live by. An expression of one’s core values, philosophy, priorities that shape our decisions, actions and conduct.
Mr. Buffett’s doctrine of it’s always 5:00 somewhere; getting wasted away in Margarittaville again; that one particular harbor; a white sports coat and a pink oyster crustacean; and celebrating that little piece of fruitcake securely tucked away in each and every one of us has secured his position as the ultimate thought leader in modern day musical, poetic and philosophical escapism. We also seem to expect our Presidents to formulate and articulate their own personal doctrine with military strategy and foreign policy being of particular interest.
Following are a few examples:
• THE MONROE DOCTRINE proclaimed the United States' opinion that European powers should no longer colonize the Americas or interfere with the affairs of sovereign nations located in the Americas
• TEDDY ROOSEVELT'S DOCTRINE "speaking softly but carrying a big stick”
• TRUMAN DOCTRINE, containment of the Soviet Union at all cost
• EISENHOWER DOCTRINE, "to secure and protect the territorial integrity and political independence of such nations, requesting such aid against overt armed aggression from any nation controlled by international communism."
• THE KENNEDY DOCTRINE voiced support for the containment of Communism and the reversal of Communist progress in the Western Hemisphere.
• THE JOHNSON DOCTRINE declared that domestic revolution in the Western Hemisphere would no longer be a local matter when "the object is the establishment of a Communist dictatorship”
• THE NIXON DOCTRINE stated that the United States henceforth expected its allies to assume primary responsibility for their own military defense. This was the start of the "Vietnamization" of the Vietnam War
• THE CARTER DOCTRINE stated that the United States would use military force if necessary to defend its national interests in the Persian Gulf. The doctrine was a response to the 1979 invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviet Union
• REAGAN DOCTRINE "We must not break faith with those who are risking their lives...on every continent, from Afghanistan to Nicaragua ... to defy Soviet aggression and secure rights which have been ours from birth. Support for freedom fighters is self-defense."
• CLINTON DOCTRINE, “It's easy ... to say that we really have no interests in who lives in this or that valley in Bosnia, or who owns a strip of brushland in the Horn of Africa, or some piece of parched earth by the Jordan River. But the true measure of our interests lies not in how small or distant these places are, or in whether we have trouble pronouncing their names. The question we must ask is what are the consequences to our security of letting conflicts fester and spread. We cannot, indeed, we should not, do everything or be everywhere. But where our values and our interests are at stake, and where we can make a difference, we must be prepared to do so.”
• THE BUSH DOCTRINE declared that the U.S. would "make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them," the Bush Doctrine has come to be identified with a policy that permits preventive war against potential aggressors before they are capable of mounting attacks against the United States.
So far based on word and deed blame America first; apology; appeasement; indecisiveness; passivism; incompetent; confused; and boneheaded all accurately describe the Obama Doctrine. “Bend over, grab our ankles, thank you sir may I have another, pucker up buttercup” also sure enough truly captures the spirit of our National Security challenged so called Commander-in-Chief’s limp wristed Foreign Policy.
Monday night’s pre-prime time Presidential address (a first) from some new location called the Defense College (not the Oval Office, another first) xplainin our military intervention in Libya certainly advanced the weak kneed Obama Doctrine further. Instead of assurances of victory, Khadafy’s demise and US exceptionalism Mr. Obama was just tickled pink to inform us of his success in obtaining UN and Arab League support, our abdication of leadership and intent to tuck tail and run at the first opportune moment.
Following are some highlights/lowlights from the President’s address:
• Tonight, I’d like to update the American people on the international effort that we have led in Libya –- what we’ve done, what we plan to do, and why this matters to us. We have led, don’t you really mean the French, Germans and Italians. Sad but so unfortunately true
• At this point, the United States and the world faced a choice. Qaddafi declared he would show “no mercy” to his own people. He compared them to rats, and threatened to go door to door to inflict punishment. In the past, we have seen him hang civilians in the streets, and kill over a thousand people in a single day. Now we saw regime forces on the outskirts of the city. We knew that if we wanted — if we waited one more day, Benghazi, a city nearly the size of Charlotte, could suffer a massacre that would have reverberated across the region and stained the conscience of the world.
• It was not in our national interest to let that happen. I refused to let that happen. And so nine days ago, after consulting the bipartisan leadership of Congress, I authorized military action to stop the killing and enforce U.N. Security Council Resolution. Probably the right thing to do but a matter of our National interest, doubtful at best.
• Moreover, we’ve accomplished these objectives consistent with the pledge that I made to the American people at the outset of our military operations. I said that America’s role would be limited; that we would not put ground troops into Libya; that we would focus our unique capabilities on the front end of the operation and that we would transfer responsibility to our allies and partners. Tonight, we are fulfilling that pledge. Tuck tail and running home like a scalded dog.
• To be blunt, we went down that road in Iraq. Thanks to the extraordinary sacrifices of our troops and the determination of our diplomats, we are hopeful about Iraq’s future. But regime change there took eight years, thousands of American and Iraqi lives, and nearly a trillion dollars. That is not something we can afford to repeat in Libya. Despite our ultimate success of establishing a Democracy smack dab in the middle of the Middle East wouldn’t be an Obama speech without an unfounded jab at W.
• Hot damn, I got permission from the UN, Arab League, Muslim Brotherhood, Ted Turner and Jimmy “the Peanut” Carter and there ain’t no never mind about it it just don’t get any better than that
“Bend over, grab our ankles, thank you sir may I have another, pucker up buttercup”, the Obama Doctrine, diminishes our standing in the world, encourages our enemies, and compromises old alliances and relationships with traditional allies. Reckon we’d most likely all be better off adopting the Buffett Doctrine and remain wasted in Margarettaville till the insanity of the Obama Administration comes to an abrupt and most deserving demise in November 2012.

Week 113: "Missing In Action"

Barack Husain Obama has literally abdicated our great Nation’s position as the leader of the free world and left the country with the kinfolk for a South/Central American Spring Break vacation.
For reasons only a Bolshevik could truly appreciate our MIA Pacifist-in-Chief seems to be taking a pass on every major issue currently confronting the Nation. Starting with this year’s budget that should have been completed this time last year, unsustainable and national security compromising levels of annual deficits and accumulated debt; record high unemployment; startling new rates of inflation; unrest throughout the Middle East; the catastrophe in Japan; and our most recent potential unmitigated disaster, the commitment of US Armed forces in Libya, the absence of US Presidential leadership is cause for great consternation, anger and despair.
Not that Libya’s Dictator of forty-two years isn’t deserving of an up close and personal rondavue with a US Tomahawk Cruise Missile or a public hanging. After untold acts of international terrorism and crimes against humanity it’s high time, Moamar Khaddafi, a bombastic seemingly genetic cross between Michael Jackson and a cave troll was brought to justice.
Designated as the “Mad Dog of the Middle East” by Ronald Reagan Khaddafi’s terrorist rap sheet justifies international condemnation as well as the scorn of his oppressed countrymen. Following is a brief summary of his terrorist credentials:
• Sponsorship of rebel movements in West Africa, notably Sierra Leone and Liberia, through the support of terrorist activities
• Supported Islamic revolution in Iran.
• Major financier of the Black September Movement. The Jihadist behind the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics
• Responsible for the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing that killed three people and wounded more than 200, including a substantial number of US servicemen.
• 1988 Lockerbie bombing of Pan Am 103 which resulted in hundreds of casualties including dozens of US citizens
• Chemical weapons development. and proliferation
In addition to his impressive terrorist portfolio the man is also a certifiable head case. Truth be told he’s crazier than a runt over dog and an outhouse rat.
He dresses like a mixture of an Arab clown and New Orleans drag queen, conducts regular 4-5 hours rants on Libyan TV on urgent topics ranging from the proper care and well being of the family camel to sharing recipes for a Libyan favorite goat eye surprise. He also frequently claims to be President Obama’s real father which when all is said and done really ain’t that far of a stretch.
So, three weeks ago when Libyan Rebels instigated an insurrection to over throw ole Mad Dog and immediately seemingly won The President of the United State’s full support based on his declaration it was time for the illegitimate dictator to step down and let freedom ring most of us folks around here said what the hell. Even though he’s not an imminent threat or clear and present danger to Uncle Sammy in consideration of past transgressions and his absolutely butt ugly wardrobe fine by us if we help take the boy out.
US and International support was obviously music to the ears to Libyan Rebels and with the promise of military assistance on the way the insurgency stepped up efforts to over throw the Khaddafi regime. Unfortunately, after substantial initial gains with expectations of US support the President went MIA for almost three weeks resulting in thousands of rebel casualties and a brutal and effective response from Khaddafi forces.
Finally after day after endless day of leaving the Rebels out to dry while also selling out the US oil industry and millions of American jobs during a visit to Brazil our “Can’t Even Go to the Bathroom Without Somebody’s Permission Wimp-in-Chief” announced he’d smooched enough butt and obtained authorization to proceed with a military intervention in Libya. Not from Congress, no sir, no way, but from the likes of his fellow Global Citizens at the UN; NATO; the Arab league; the AFL-CIO; ACORN; the NCAA; and probably even the Muslim Brotherhood for good measure.
To make matters worse he then informed us all, openly and without shame, standing right on up there like he had good sense that our leadership of this fiasco would be strictly limited to a week or so and that command and control would be turned over to an international committee chaired by our good friends and allies France. Our so called Commander-in-Chief is sure enough authorizing the subordination of the US Military to French control.
A policy if actually implemented that just has to be an impeachable offense. According to the United States Constitution, Article II, Section 4 Impeachment should be considered when:
• "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
• Constitutional Scholars generally agree "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" are (1) real criminality -- breaking a law; (2) abuses of power; (3) "violation of public trust" as defined by Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist Papers
• In 1970, then Representative Gerald R. Ford defined impeachable offenses as "whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history.”
• In the past Congress has issued Articles of Impeachment for acts in three general categories -1. Exceeding the constitutional bounds of the powers of the office. 2. Behavior grossly incompatible with the proper function and purpose of the office. 3. Employing the power of the office for an improper purpose or for personal gain
• Any President who justifiably receives a verbal what for from a French government official for acting in a fiscally irresponsible and Socialist manner
• Authorizing the subordination of any US military troops to foreign control with even swifter and more severe punishment rendered when France is the foreign power granted such authority
In our way of reckoning the President is very likely guilty of committing at least 113 impeachable offenses. This is a “WAG” predicated on one infraction a week since taking the Oath of Office that in all likely hood would prove to be an extremely conservative estimate if subjected to more rigorous scrutiny.
Barack Obama’s MIA, AWOL, voting present, Community Organizer, and inability to act in an assertive and decisive manner approach to governance has set the removal of Khaddafi back by weeks if not months and even worse caused the addition of thousands of rebel insurgents and noncombatants killed and wounded. A bewildering strategy indeed for an Administration hell bent on winning the hearts and minds of the Muslim world no never mind how much the standing and prestige of the Red, White and Blue is diminished in the process.

Week 111: “Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea”
I pulled into the regular pump
I was feelin quite at ease
I rolled down my window and told the man, fifty cents worth please
Then out jumped my partner with his trusty pellet gun
He said, boy this is a holdup, keep a pumpin and don't run
And now I wish I was somewhere other than here

Sure enough about the only subject most frequently discussed in this country besides the weather is the price of a gallon of gasoline. Comparisons to their last fill up; the stations with the best deals; the dirty rotten SOB’s that are steeling us blind; folks proudly bragging about driving an extra twenty miles to save 3 cents a gallon; and of course assigning blame for those responsible for unjustifiably jackn up prices.
Targets of our pump priming rage include Middle Eastern oil producing countries; OPEC; commodities speculators; and as the Obama Administration describes them as evil, corrupt, earth hating, anti-green, murderous, thieving, self serving, greedy Oil Companies that actually have the audacity to attempt making a profit on their goods and services. All the typical suspects that certainly do have a major influence on the cost of crude but not the price manipulating scoundrels currently driving gas and oil prices to possibly unprecedented and record breaking levels.
That most dubious honor seems to be reserved for none other than our “Global Price Manipulator Just Can’t Wait for $7 Dollars a Gallon – in – Chief” the President of these here United States hiself, Barack Husain Obama. The man advocating an anti-oil/gas energy policy that if successfully implemented will surely bring this country to its knees with the speed, clarity of intent, and enthusiasm so publically demonstrated by our old friend White House Intern Monica Lewinski.
Perhaps a brief review of the current status of this most volatile of global commodity markets will serve as a logical starting point for our little expose on Obama’s hostile takeover of the worldwide energy industry:
• Gas prices have done exploded by over 21% since the protests in Libya began with the national average for a gallon of gas at $3.43
• Since the initiation of political protest in Egypt, the subsequent domino effect and even plans for marches in Saudi Arabia the cost of a barrel of oil has increased from the high $70’s to north of $100 per barrel this week
• Many industry experts including T Boone Pickens and Eric Bolling predict $140-$150 a barrel by the end of summer if increases in demand are realized as currently projected
• Prices this high for a barrel of crude will equate to $5 - $7 a gallon at the pump and millions of really agitated pilgrims who aren’t gonna take to kindly to shelling out more than $200 every time they top off a tank.
President Obama is hell bent on creating an environment that supports high gas prices convinced this is the only path to big oil’s ultimate demise and the public’s acceptance of his bark eating tree humping eco extremist compadres wild eyed dreams of a totally green, recyclable, UN governed global village. In his own words during a 2008 interview Candidate Obama stated he didn’t mind high gas prices, but would prefer a “gradual adjustment”.
Current events in the Middle East sure enough have accelerated his fanatical eco green dreams of an oil and carbon free energy infrastructure replaced by US Government subsidized clean energy technology that is ten times less efficient and 50% more expensive than existing sources. Good news for Al “Midnight Massage Boy” Gore and all his insider carbon trading comrades but nothing but more heart ache and financial calamity for all of us poor dumb pilgrims paying the tab for this insanity.
We openly and without shame acknowledge the conspiracy theory overtones of our accusations about the Obama Administration’s Socialist conversion and illegal price fixing of the global oil and gas markets. However, truth be told, evidence supporting our claim is more abundant than white on rice.
Consider the following:
1. TAPS - the largest pipeline in America— is currently not using two-third of its capacity. Alaska could send 1.4 million barrels more per day to the lower forty-eight. Unfortunately, Uncle Sammy owns most of the land and all of the offshore waters, and it won’t permit development of new resources.
2. For example, the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska has millions of barrels that the Obama administration is prohibiting drilling. No coherent explanation for this decision has been forthcoming
3. ANWR, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, has at least 10.4 billion barrels of oil but domestic exploration is currently considered a crime against nature by the eco head cases. It just don’t make no never mind what so ever to these boneheads that 95% of ANWR is a frozen tundra and the only life that can be found in this frozen wasteland is half frozen bark eating tree humping eco extremist and Sarah Palin filming an episode of her realty TV show
4. After the BP disaster in the Gulf the Obamanites didn’t waste anytime exploiting the crisis to further advance their extreme green agenda by imposing an illegal moratorium on drilling that for all practical purposes is still in effect today in defiance of a Federal Judge’s orders costing literally tens of thousands of jobs.
5. The economic and energy wizards in the Obama Administration have blocked the exploration for and production of shale oil in the Rockies and all over the Western US even as we sit atop enough shale oil reserves to meet all of our domestic oil needs for the next 100 years. Anyone opposed to pursuing this opportunity should be tried for treason.
Sure enough don’t know if President Obama’s failure to put us on the road to energy independence and obvious aggressive opposition to achieving this objective raises to level of a treasonous offense or not. Considering the National Security implications it damn sure ought too.
If not treason definitely impeachable. With already having committed one such offense, taking a justifiable what for tongue lashing from the President of France for his grand Socialist transformation plans and record breaking expenditures of others people’s money, a genuine, bonified, impeachable offense, it may just be high time for the GOP controlled House to be assembling a Prosecution team to put our “Marxist-in-Chief” on trial for high crimes and misdemeanors in conflict with the Constitution of the United States of America.
Impeachment of our 44th President. The one topic that might just surpass the weather, the price of a gallon of gas, and Charlie Sheen’s crazy ass behavior as the most frequently discussed topic in corporate break rooms, social network sites and the bars/pubs so generously sprinkled all across this great nation.

Sure enough about the only subject most frequently discussed in this country besides the weather is the price of a gallon of gasoline. Comparisons to their last fill up; the stations with the best deals; the dirty rotten SOB’s that are steeling us blind; folks proudly bragging about driving an extra twenty miles to save 3 cents a gallon; and of course assigning blame for those responsible for unjustifiably jackn up prices.
Targets of our pump priming rage include Middle Eastern oil producing countries; OPEC; commodities speculators; and as the Obama Administration describes them as evil, corrupt, earth hating, anti-green, murderous, thieving, self serving, greedy Oil Companies that actually have the audacity to attempt making a profit on their goods and services. All the typical suspects that certainly do have a major influence on the cost of crude but not the price manipulating scoundrels currently driving gas and oil prices to possibly unprecedented and record breaking levels.
That most dubious honor seems to be reserved for none other than our “Global Price Manipulator Just Can’t Wait for $7 Dollars a Gallon – in – Chief” the President of these here United States hiself, Barack Husain Obama. The man advocating an anti-oil/gas energy policy that if successfully implemented will surely bring this country to its knees with the speed, clarity of intent, and enthusiasm so publically demonstrated by our old friend White House Intern Monica Lewinski.
Perhaps a brief review of the current status of this most volatile of global commodity markets will serve as a logical starting point for our little expose on Obama’s hostile takeover of the worldwide energy industry:
• Gas prices have done exploded by over 21% since the protests in Libya began with the national average for a gallon of gas at $3.43
• Since the initiation of political protest in Egypt, the subsequent domino effect and even plans for marches in Saudi Arabia the cost of a barrel of oil has increased from the high $70’s to north of $100 per barrel this week
• Many industry experts including T Boone Pickens and Eric Bolling predict $140-$150 a barrel by the end of summer if increases in demand are realized as currently projected
• Prices this high for a barrel of crude will equate to $5 - $7 a gallon at the pump and millions of really agitated pilgrims who aren’t gonna take to kindly to shelling out more than $200 every time they top off a tank.
President Obama is hell bent on creating an environment that supports high gas prices convinced this is the only path to big oil’s ultimate demise and the public’s acceptance of his bark eating tree humping eco extremist compadres wild eyed dreams of a totally green, recyclable, UN governed global village. In his own words during a 2008 interview Candidate Obama stated he didn’t mind high gas prices, but would prefer a “gradual adjustment”.
Current events in the Middle East sure enough have accelerated his fanatical eco green dreams of an oil and carbon free energy infrastructure replaced by US Government subsidized clean energy technology that is ten times less efficient and 50% more expensive than existing sources. Good news for Al “Midnight Massage Boy” Gore and all his insider carbon trading comrades but nothing but more heart ache and financial calamity for all of us poor dumb pilgrims paying the tab for this insanity.
We openly and without shame acknowledge the conspiracy theory overtones of our accusations about the Obama Administration’s Socialist conversion and illegal price fixing of the global oil and gas markets. However, truth be told, evidence supporting our claim is more abundant than white on rice.
Consider the following:
1. TAPS - the largest pipeline in America— is currently not using two-third of its capacity. Alaska could send 1.4 million barrels more per day to the lower forty-eight. Unfortunately, Uncle Sammy owns most of the land and all of the offshore waters, and it won’t permit development of new resources.
2. For example, the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska has millions of barrels that the Obama administration is prohibiting drilling. No coherent explanation for this decision has been forthcoming
3. ANWR, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, has at least 10.4 billion barrels of oil but domestic exploration is currently considered a crime against nature by the eco head cases. It just don’t make no never mind what so ever to these boneheads that 95% of ANWR is a frozen tundra and the only life that can be found in this frozen wasteland is half frozen bark eating tree humping eco extremist and Sarah Palin filming an episode of her realty TV show
4. After the BP disaster in the Gulf the Obamanites didn’t waste anytime exploiting the crisis to further advance their extreme green agenda by imposing an illegal moratorium on drilling that for all practical purposes is still in effect today in defiance of a Federal Judge’s orders costing literally tens of thousands of jobs.
5. The economic and energy wizards in the Obama Administration have blocked the exploration for and production of shale oil in the Rockies and all over the Western US even as we sit atop enough shale oil reserves to meet all of our domestic oil needs for the next 100 years. Anyone opposed to pursuing this opportunity should be tried for treason.
Sure enough don’t know if President Obama’s failure to put us on the road to energy independence and obvious aggressive opposition to achieving this objective raises to level of a treasonous offense or not. Considering the National Security implications it damn sure ought too.
If not treason definitely impeachable. With already having committed one such offense, taking a justifiable what for tongue lashing from the President of France for his grand Socialist transformation plans and record breaking expenditures of others people’s money, a genuine, bonified, impeachable offense, it may just be high time for the GOP controlled House to be assembling a Prosecution team to put our “Marxist-in-Chief” on trial for high crimes and misdemeanors in conflict with the Constitution of the United States of America.
Impeachment of our 44th President. The one topic that might just surpass the weather, the price of a gallon of gas, and Charlie Sheen’s crazy ass behavior as the most frequently discussed topic in corporate break rooms, social network sites and the bars/pubs so generously sprinkled all across this great nation.

Bluto, Otter, Boone, D Day and the rest of the Gentleman of the Delta House from the sure enough best college feel good movie of all time don’t have nothing on the Obama White House when it comes to throwing a classic band party. Otis Day and the Knights, especially their Toga Party rendition of “Shout” – “Gator! Gator! Gator”!, really raised the roof In the Delta Party Room but it doesn’t even hold a “Bic lighter Free Bird” candle to the Obama’s Band Party line up of musical legends and luminaries.
Our “Front Row Chief Executive Party Hound-In-Chief” keeps blathering about shared sacrifice during these dire economic times while putting on a star studded shindig seemingly every week at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The First Family is giving Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan a run for their money for our Nation’s most notorious “party time central”.
But don’t just take our word for it according to the White House’s official website and Propaganda Misinformation Center the following entertainers have already played for the Obamas and their mostly high society celebrity guest since they infested the Executive Mansion 110 short weeks ago:
• Rodrigo & Gabriela – Favorites of our millions of criminal illegal immigrants and their rich patrons like the Obamas
• Beyoncé – Bless her heart, rumor has it both VP Biden and AG Holder required emergency medical services following her sexually charged performance
• "A Broadway Celebration”: Emceed by Nathan Lane and included Idina Menzel, Brian d'Arcy James, Audra McDonald, Chad Kimball, Elaine Stritch, Marvin Hamlisch, Karen Olivo, Tonya Pinkins, Assata Alston and a youth ensemble from the Joy of Motion Dance Center and Duke Ellington School of the Arts, with Danielle Arci and Constantine Rousouli. Doubt any of these folks have recently sung the National Anthem at a NASCAR event or Monster Truck Rally.
• Paul McCartney. The evening included performances by McCartney himself and Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, Jonas Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Corinne Bailey Rae, Dave Grohl, Faith Hill, Emmylou Harris, Lang Lang and Jack White, with remarks by Jerry Seinfeld. Sir Paul publically insulted W and true to his tacky Yankee no class self Mr. Obama failed to defend the dignity or honor of the Presidency
• "In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement" in honor of Black History Month. The evening featured songs from the Civil Rights Movement performed by top entertainers, as well as readings from famous Civil Rights speeches and writings. Artists included Yolanda Adams, Joan Baez, Natalie Cole, Bob Dylan, Jennifer Hudson, John Mellencamp, Smokey Robinson, the Blind Boys of Alabama, the Howard University Choir and The Freedom Singers, featuring Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, Rutha Harris, Charles Neblett and Toshi Reagon. Morgan Freeman was a guest speaker. As a grand finale Obama political mentor and domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers, blew up a couple of Government buildings.
• "In Performance at the White House: Fiesta Latina" a concert hosted by the President and Mrs. Obama on the South Lawn of the White House. The program celebrates Hispanic musical heritage and includes performances by Marc Anthony, Jimmy Smits, Eva Longoria Parker, Pete Escovedo, Gloria Estefan, José Feliciano, George Lopez, Thalía, Tito "El Bambino", the Bachata music group Aventura, and the Chicano rock band Los Lobos. Another pucker up buttercup tribute to all of our “Illegal criminal immigrants.
• An evening of celebration with President and Mrs. Obama at the White House in honor of musician Stevie Wonder. The concert included performances by Wonder with popular musicians including India Arie; Tony Bennett; Wayne Brady; Anita Johnson; Diana Krall; Mary Mary; Martina McBride; Rickey Minor; Paul Simon; Esperanza Spalding; and Will.i.am. performing a selection of Wonder's hit songs. Mr. Wonder formally greeted the First Couple by remarking, “Long time no see”
• Black History Month was highlighted at the White House with a celebration of Motown music. Performers included Smokey Robinson, Sheryl Crow and John Legend. To our knowledge Otis Day or none of the Knights were attendance.
Concerts and band parties scheduled for the future honor various members of the Administration and feature more iconic figures from the entertainment industry. A few of the more high profile events on Barack and the First Lady’s social calendar include:
• A tribute to VP “Mr. Gaffe Dumber than a Bag of Hammers” Biden featuring Irish drinking band Sean O’Neal singing many of Uncle Joe’s all time favorites – “Little Brown Jug”; “Jug of Punch”; and “Mr. O‘Gaffe O’Dumber than a O’Bag of O’Hammers”
• A night celebrating Hillary “Sarge Keeper of the Traveling Butt Ugly Pants Suit Clan” with guest artist’s Tammy Wynette singing “Stand By Your Man” in honor of hubby Bill and “Lyin Eyes” by the Eagles, one of her more endearing characteristics
