Thoughts of Obama from Bama
Week 56: Reality Check
It's a good night for singing, I got too drunk and my ears are still ringing,
it’s so good to see you, it's a brand new day.
It took us lifetimes to get this far, back to reality
Wonder where we are tonight, it's a brand new day.
“It’s a Good Night for Singing”, Jerry Jeff Walker, Written by Bob Livingston
Vice President “Uncle Joe, Mr. Plagiarize, Gaff Machine, Both Feet in Mouth” Biden climbed the mountain, peered over the edge, and jumped off leaving the land of reality far behind during Week 56 of the make believe world of the Obama Administration. While appearing on the Larry “Weekend at Bernie’s” King show our VP sat right up just like he had good sense and proclaimed the following about the War in Iraq, “…this could be one of the great achievements of this Administration.”
Bless his heart, the Veep and all the political hacks at the White House seem to have truly lost their grip on reality. Especially when you consider Senator and candidate Obama along with then Senator “Yes I do Believe in Fairy’s” Biden were two of the most ardent and vocal critics of the War in Iraq before they infested the White House.
During the 2008 campaign Our Passivist-in-Chief made the War in Iraq his signature issue promising troop withdrawal within 16 months of taking office and an end to W’s “illegal” war. Both our Warrior Against Islamic Jihadist-in-Chief and his Second in Command:
1. Opposed the war from the beginning,
2. Opposed W’s U.S. troop surge of 2007 credited by most with producing a military and political victory.
3. Predicted with as much vision as the blind leading the blind that the troop surge would actually worsen sectarian fighting and violence.
4. Called for dividing Iraq in thirds by religious sects. That boneheaded strategy was a total non starter.
5. Raised the white flag of surrender with our troops in the middle of the fight bolstering the enemy and demoralizing our folks.
Senior political hack, Presidential mouth piece and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs responded to questions the following day further confirming the Administration’s departure from reality:
· Question: Robert, the Vice President last night said that Iraq could end up being one of the President's great achievements. Given that the Vice President was in favor of a partial partition of the country and the President opposed the surge that helped stabilize it, how is that one of the President's great achievements?
-
Response;Mr. Gibbs, Well, putting what was broken back together and getting our troops home, which we intend to do in August of this year.
Reality: Despite our Winner of Wars in Iraq-in-Chief’s reluctance to use the word victory when it comes to armed combat for all practical purposes the Iraq War was already won when he took the Oath of Office. Miracles of miracles the Yes We Can gang let well enough alone, didn’t screw up the successes achieved by W and refrained from snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

· Question: But the Status of Forces Agreement to bring troops home was signed before the President took office.
-
Response: Mr. Gibbs, Something that -- something that I think the political pressure that the President, as a then-candidate, helped to bring about.
Reality: The arrogance and conceit of the “Anointed One” is truly boundless. His candidacy had absolutely nothing what so ever to do with the W Administration’s success in negotiating our troop’s withdrawal agreement with Iraq. Favorable conditions on the ground as a result of our courage’s troops and the surge were the decisive factors leading to victory.

In addition to their outrageous and ludicrous claim taking credit for our victory in Iraq our President From Never Never Land-in-Chief has also taken credit for the following achievements:
· His Socialist/Spending Bill passed last year saved or created 2 million jobs
· Our victory over the USSR in the Cold War
· The discovery of penicillin
· Victory over Germany and Japan in WWII
· The Yankees victory in the War for Southern Independence
· The invention of the light bulb
· Doing a better job than W and Cheney fighting the War on Terror
· Newton’s discovery of gravity and Einstein’s Theory of Relativity
· The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire
· Canned beer and sliced bread
· Casual Fridays
· Day light savings time
· Discovery of DNA
· His record and deficit busting spending saved the world from a Depression of biblical proportions
· World peace
· Universal brotherhood
· A chicken in every pot
· Inventor of the Tele-prompter
· The Saints victory in the Super Bowl
When asked by reporters how in the world could our Over Achiever-in-Chief takes credit for all these accomplishments senior political hack and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs replied:
· “President Obama’s life force, vision of hope and inspirational leadership transcends time and all physical boundaries”
Sadly but not surprisingly the leftwing media elite actually bought this load of camel dung with the exception of the folks from the “Fair and Balanced’ network and ABC who followed up with an incredulous and dumbfounded “What the Hell”? Unphased Senior Political hack Gibbs replied:
· “Hey, if they’ll believe we are responsible for success in Iraq they’ll believe anything. Next question.”
Many are convinced perception is reality. The Hope, Change and Believe crowd’s perception of reality is not only absurd it’s also arrogant, narcissistic and dangerous.
The only “accomplishments” this Administration can credibly make claim too is diminishing our standing in the world, weakening our national security capabilities, exploding the national debt, and socializing large segments of our economy. That’s a “Reality Check” we can definitely do without.
