Thoughts of Obama from Bama

Week Eleven – Obamaism

Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. Ever notice as Ferris, one of the most sage philosophers of the baby boom generation along with Jerry Jeff Walker, Buffett, Lyle Lovett and the gone but not forgotten Lewis Grizzard, so astutely points out in his words of wisdom quoted above almost all isms truly are not ideals folks with a lick of sense have any interest at all in supporting. With a few exceptions, most notably capitalism, conservatism and southernisms, most isms refer to oppressive and tyrannical forms of government and self centered and secular personal beliefs.

Unfortunately, again with the notable exceptions mentioned above, our new President and the “Yes We Can Not Only Triple the National Debt in Ten Years or Less and Also Dismantle Over 230 Years of Democratic and Republic Form of Government Before the Unwashed Masses Even Have a Hankering of What’s Really Going On” crowd at the White House have yet to meet an ism they haven’t welcomed with open arms and a big ole sloppy wet kiss. With a big warm embrace like the one our First Lady recently laid on the Queen, and the submissive bow our President greeted the King from Saudi Arabia with at last week’s G20 Summit, the gang from the West Wing are accepting policies with origins and values based on the dogma and doctrines of isms that litter the historical social and political landscapes of failed empires, civilizations and countries who have naively pursued the idea of an unattainable utopian society.

It’s interesting to note that most of the core ideals this country was founded on don’t fall under the umbrella of the ism genre. Freedom, liberty, and democracy being the most prominent examples. In stark contrast our new Socialist in Chief, Barak H. Obama, embodies the spirit and inherent fallacies of the ism philosophy.

In his first eleven weeks in office President Obama has embraced and advocated the benefits and advantages of socialism, communism and fascism. Behind the cloak of an alleged crisis (Sensationalism) the new administration has trumpeted our imminent economic ruin while at the same time proclaiming a strategy to never miss an opportunity to exploit a crisis (Crisisism) for political advantage.

Socialism, first introduced in a big way into American politics by the New Dealer hiself, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was implemented with similar stealth tactics used by Mr. Obama today. Blame your predecessor, Herbert Hoover in FDR’s case (W-ism in the vernacular of the current administration); greatly exaggerate the nature of the problem (Crisisism and Sensationalism); promote the idea of class warfare positioning yourself on the side of the poor and downtrodden taking on the great industrialist and financiers like Rockefeller and Mellon, in FDR’s case, and Mr. Obama’s current favorite targets, AIG execs, all corporate CEO’s, Wall Street, Small Business, and Mrs. Gaines 4th Grade Future Enterprisers Club (Progressivism); and finally, one of the most important tenants of Socialism, the redistribution of wealth aka (Legalized Theftism).

To date, President Obama has successfully socialized/nationalized (Nationalism) the banks and financial institutions, the U.S. Auto industry (Designating his own self as Mr. Goodwrench, guaranteeing warranties and offering a $19.95 Lube Job and Tune Up Special for all non English speaking criminal illegal aliens). His sights are now set on the world’s best healthcare and education systems and our domestic energy industry which are all prominent and high priority initiatives in the President’s communist manifesto, I mean, proposed budget “blueprint” currently in Conference Committee in Congress. Having already passed both houses on a straight party vote or by virtue of extreme (Partisanshipism), which so far has been a hallmark of “The Change You Can Believe In Like Using a Relatively Slim Margin of Victory as a Mandate to Force Momentous, Unprecedented, Cultural and Economic Socialist Initiatives” the White House’s legislative strategy.

Contrary to popular belief, historically, most major groundbreaking and world shaking legislation and new policy initiatives adopted in this country have enjoyed bipartisan support. Going back to the Continental Congress, passage of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights were all ultimately approved with a fairly impressive majority consensus.

More recently, even FDR’s New Deal legislation; Reagan’s defense spending and tax cuts; Bush 1’s authorization for Operation Desert Storm; Slick Willy’s Welfare Reform; and W’s permission to use force in Iraq and across the board tax cuts all passed with varying degrees of bipartisan support. In contrast, Mr. Obama’s Stimulus/Massive Socialist Spending Bill passed on a straight party line vote with the exception of three in name only GOP Senators, Specter, Snow and Collins, all inflicted with a bad case of extreme (boneheadedism).

The President’s proposed $3.5 trillion dollar plus stealth budget bill passed both houses without one GOP vote. This legislation will serve as the catalyst plunging our nation into the realm of Obamaism, a new form of governance and culture based on all the tyrannical and oppressive isms Mr. Obama so readily embraces, including socialism; communism; fascism; nationalism; collectivism; and for good measure a healthy dose of Secularism; Atheism; Plagiarism (frequently practiced by both the President and Veep); pessimism; sensationalism; and absurdism, an ism that certainly accurately describes our current predicament in Washington.

We the people and the so called free press should be sounding the alarms, shouting from the mountain tops and marching on DC in effort to stop the bloodless coup currently taking place in our nation’s capital.


The President proudly touted his new Obamaism based foreign and domestic policy initiatives during his European Apology and Appeasement Tour last week. With blame America first being one of the central tenants of Obamaism, standing on foreign soil while addressing a mostly French audience, the very man elected to lead and defend our great nation, blamed our past strained relations with his European Socialist comrades on the arrogance, dismissive and derisive behavior of his own country. Another thinly veiled jab at his predecessor, W, who he also blamed for America’s low standing in the world.

Wearing a “pucker up butter cup” lapel pin the President’s efforts to kiss up to his fellow G20 leaders failed miserably. His two primary objectives for the summit, secure promises of increased stimulus spending and a commitment of additional troops in Afghanistan, were both summarily rejected. Thankfully, even our socialist European allies seemingly maintain reservations about Obamaism doctrine. Although, it would be nice if they pulled their weight in the Global War on Terrorism. Maybe they are just opposed to committing troops to an Overseas Contingency Operation.

Finally, while doing a town hall in Turkey, presumably in an effort to appease their Muslim population, standing up on stage just as happy as if he had good sense, the President of the United States claimed our country was neither a Christian, Jewish or Muslim nation. This declaration, surly based on two of Obamaism’s core principles, Secularism and Atheisms, is another prime example of our fearless leader’s propensity towards revisionist history, another Obamaism core principal. He must of missed class the day, probably out smoking some weed or snorting a few lines again with his future weather Font sizeunderground pals, when they covered “In God We Trust”, “One Nation Under God”, and “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.

We can only hope Obamaism ends up in the trash heap of history alongside all the other failed political and cultural isms that advocated oppressive, tyrannical, and false utopian philosophies. On the other hand, as I’m sure Mr. Bueller would agree, there are a few isms truly worthy of our support and none are more deserving than Yogi-sms:

· " I usually take a two hour nap from one to four"
· " It's deja vu all over again"
· " When you come to a fork in the road....Take it”
· " I didn't really say everything I said "
· " You can observe a lot by watching "
· " The future ain't what it used to be "
· " It gets late early
out here"


Now those are isms we all can believe in!
